Open Into Abundance
Paula Whang-Ramos

Just as a drop of ocean water will be found to contain the same basic qualities as the ocean,
so do the characteristics of God exist within the soul as our divine potential
.”
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p. 67

Yoga philosophy teaches that we are individual expressions of the one Source of all that is, commonly referred to as God. Why do we care? How does this help us navigate the blessings and challenges of our daily lives? How does this help us live in the highest way?

When we live in the soul’s abundance, we realize that the timeless wisdom that indwells the wisest beings we admire also indwells us. In the soul, we can access the inner divine creative potential that is the same energy that created gravity, the cosmos, and even cell phones. And, when we forget the innate wisdom and divine creative potential within us, the soul knows how to return to the presence of Wholeness that exists within and around us all the time, everywhere, no matter what is happening in our lives. Consciously living in the abundance of the soul offers endless opportunities to address, resolve, and even transcend our daily life challenges.

When we are not consciously living in the abundance of the soul then we are living in the poverty consciousness of the ego mind. We rely on other people, possessions, and circumstances to make us happy, determine our worth, and define our identities. Any pleasure we derive from these relationships is temporary as the ego’s relentless pursuit of desires is ever-changing and endless. The ego believes that we don't have enough time, money, love, or options to live in peace and wholeness. We can even come to believe that we are lacking and less than whole when the ego’s desires are unmet.

If you are ready to experience an alternative to ego's poverty consciousness, and you want to explore how to inwardly access the abundance of the soul, then I invite you to join us at BLC this Saturday 04/06/2024 for a special program “Opening Into Abundance”. Gift yourself restorative time in spiritual community as we share an afternoon of meditation, inspiration, and direct exploration into the soul's divine abundance. Experience abundance as a practical spiritual practice that opens us into the divine wholeness, power, and wisdom that indwells us right now.

Live In The Flow of Oneness
Paula Whang-Ramos

“…we are individualized expressions of a higher Absolute Reality. Remember the wave and the ocean.
We are always rooted in the divine Source
.” ~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p. 49

One of the metaphors from the Spiritual Teachers in our tradition is that we are like waves on the ocean. When we stand on the beach, we can see each wave distinctly emerge from the ocean. While one wave flows towards the shore, another may simultaneously flow back into the ocean, as a third wave may be flowing in from a different direction. As we breathe into the flow of the different waves, it can be easy to lose sight of the larger ocean from which they all emerge and to which they all return.

Like waves on the ocean, we also appear as distinctly separate beings, moving and flowing in different directions. Some of us move like small, slow waves, while others come rolling into life like big crashing waves. And still others live in a way different from the mainstream. When we focus on our differences, we can lose sight of the spiritual reality that we all come from the same ocean of Source. We are all made of the same spirit, energy, and matter, regardless of apparent differences.

When we learn to look beyond the surface of apparent differences, we can realize the incredible, limitless diversity within the Source of life that expresses as every one of us. From this deeper reality, we can also commune in the inner strength, integrity, peace, and joy from the Source that flows through us right now. This is the life of Kriya Yoga – living in the eternal divine ocean of the power, presence, and wisdom of the Wholeness of life!

Live Into This Yoga Moment
Paula Whang-Ramos

“Yoga, from the outset, directs us to recognize that all that we are to become in our fullness exists now, in this now moment.”
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel Of Abundance, p. 57

Yoga teaches us that every moment is a holy moment, filled with divine possibility. When we stop following the fears and desires of the mind, we can choose to listen and live into the divine Source of all that is. For us to inwardly hear and follow the promptings of our inner wisdom and joy, we need to learn to live in this present holy moment, because it is the only moment that we can truly impact and experience. To heal from the past, we rely on the power of divine grace and our intentional efforts to transform our consciousness, in this present moment.

As we live into the 4-year anniversary of the pandemic and continue to emerge from its effects personally and globally, I lovingly invite you to join me in a compassionate, courageous holy yoga moment. Have you felt the exhaustion and frustration from trying to reclaim what was lost in the pandemic? Can you feel the futility of trying to recreate past routines and attachments that no longer serve your highest good now? The reason this effort is futile is not because of the pandemic. It is because we cannot truly live in circumstances that no longer exist. When we try, we deplete our vital force and miss opportunities in this moment, to heal and grow from what happened in the past.

In this moment, our daily Kriya Yoga and meditation practice can help us stop following the mind’s longing for the past, so we can heal, grow, and be restored in the Wholeness available to us in this present moment. So, let us grieve, honor, love, and offer gratitude for what was. Perhaps over time, we may be able to carry it in our hearts as a blessing and wisdom to inspire our greatest good. And, let's use our daily Kriya Yoga practice to live into divine possibilities even greater than we could have imagined 4 years ago. What can we become in the fullness of this moment right now?

Love And Gratitude For Mr. Davis
Paula Whang-Ramos

Imagine being spiritually enlightened. Don’t allow yourself to be confined by mundane circumstances, subjective (mental and emotional) conditions,
or mental processes. Imagine that you are always established in conscious awareness of your pure essence –
which is a unit of the pure essence of ultimate Reality.”
~Mr. Roy Eugene Davis, The Jewel of Abundance, p. 32

This month, in deep love and gratitude, we honor the anniversary of the birth (03/09/1931) and the conscious transition (03/27/2019) of Mr. Roy Eugene Davis. Mr. Davis is the Guru of Yogacharya O’Brian, and a beloved Spiritual Teacher in this tradition of Kriya Yoga. Mr. Davis had a generously calm, spiritually clear, grounded presence in ultimate Reality. Over the years, I watched him fully experience life in his joy for nature, his love for those on the path, and even his moments of longing for his own Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda. And even as these emotions, thoughts, and memories flowed through Mr. Davis, he remained even-minded and grounded in the Source of divine love and life.

One of the many qualities I admired in Mr. Davis was how he consistently saw and treated us all as spiritually enlightened beings. When we asked him questions, he would not reply at the ego level of our question. Instead, his reply reflected the divine power, presence, and wisdom within and around us. He had a very loving and direct way of calling us to live from the integrity of our soul, beyond the mind, so we could directly experience our true essence.

Mr. Davis was a steadfast embodiment of the teachings of Kriya Yoga and the unconditional love of the Divine. He lived in the world, without being confined by its trappings. Through the energy of his many books, publications and recordings, we can continue to experience his eternal love and commitment to our spiritual enlightenment. Will you join me in a prayer of love, devotion, and gratitude for Mr. Davis, Yogacharya O’Brian, and all the Spiritual Teachers in this tradition who made the teachings and existence of Blue Lotus Center possible today? Thank you.

Living Yoga
Paula Whang-Ramos

“…the spiritual path and practice of yoga does take us out of the world as we once perceived it,
then sends us back into the world with a profoundly different view.”
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p. 13

Before coming to this path of Kriya Yoga, I believed that yoga was a form of physical stretching and exercise frequently taught in health clubs. I often saw yoga marketed as a form of stress management. However, my own deeper Kriya Yoga practice and study revealed that the original, ancient intention of yoga is much more than the temporary alleviation of mind/body stress.

At its core, yoga is based on a spiritual philosophy that one Source, one Wholeness expresses as everything we experience - including our mind/bodies, our lives, and all of life. As individual expressions of Wholeness, the goal of yoga is to remember and live in/from our own innate Wholeness. The practice of yoga is to repeatedly remove the mental obstacles that prevent us from experiencing our true Self.

The yogic life is an inner journey of Self-realization and the direct experience of our relationship in the Source of wholeness. In yoga, we no longer define ourselves based on earth life experiences and our reactions to them. Instead, we learn to experience our earth lives through the power, presence, and wisdom of the Wholeness that indwells us all. From this deeper and broader view of life, we can live more joyfully, heal more deeply, and love more unconditionally. And, yes, as we learn to live from the inside out, we naturally experience more flexibility and less stress in many areas of our lives as well!

“If anything disturbs your peace, practice having faith that divine grace is already actively at work restoring wholeness and well-being.

Then make any necessary adjustments in harmony with that insight.”
