Being Compassionate and Good-Hearted

Paula Whang-Ramos

"It is our nature to be compassionate..to be good-hearted."
~ Mr. Roy Eugene Davis

Last Saturday at CSE, we were blessed with the opportunity to be in the presence of Mr. Roy Eugene Davis, Yogacharya O'Brian's spiritual teacher and the last living teacher blessed by Paramahansa Yogananda to offer the teachings of Kriya Yoga in his lineage. It was a day filled with inspiration and clear vision.

In alignment with the ancient Yogic teachings of Kriya Yoga, Mr. Davis reminded us of the Source of wholeness that indwells us and surrounds us. This Oneness remains ever uncompromised, undivided and unchanged by challenging life circumstances, difficult relations, and our uncomfortable reactions to them. Mr. Davis offered many ancient meditative and yogic lifestyle practices to support our repeated return to the indwelling Oneness that enlivens us all as It constantly infuses Itself in every situation in our lives.

During this time of perceived separation and change, Mr. Davis offered a hopeful and timely reminder that we are essentially compassionate and good-hearted beings. The very presence of difficult life experiences is the ground on which we can choose to live from the maturity of our compassionate goodness, instead of the reactive fear of the mind. Again and again, we can courageously choose to grow and to live in peace - for our well-being, for the well-being of our youth and future generations, and for the good of all beings everywhere.

Join us at Blue Lotus Center. Meditate with others devoted to thriving in peace, love and wholeness. Experience ancient Yogic practices to live from our compassionate, courageous hearts. Make this the year that we affirm and skillfully live in peace - in our minds, our hearts, our families, our community and our world. Blue Lotus Meditation & Yoga Center welcomes sincere seekers from all backgrounds. Beginning and experienced participants from all traditions are welcome at all gatherings.

How To Live A Peaceful Life

Paula Whang-Ramos

"With a mind full of thoughts that run like a stampede of horses, how is it possible to know happiness? When the restless mind
is brought to a still point through meditation, the stampeding horses stop to drink from the waters of the soul’s joy."

~ Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian

Before we sincerely step on to the path of meditation, we may think that our lives will calm down after we complete the last 20 items on our "to do" list. And the truth is, that the list is ever-growing, which may make the idea of a peaceful life feel more like a dream than a reality. The reality is that our overactive lives are an outer reflection of our overactive minds. If we want calmness in our outer lives, we must learn to calm the mind.

Learning time-tested, universally effective meditation practices can help us calm the wild stampede of thoughts that we chase into our daily lives. A daily practice of meditation can increase the Self-realization of an essential inner Power and Presence that offers clarity and wisdom to guide our lives in an intentional, thoughtful way. When we learn to stop letting the reactive stampede of thoughts lead our lives, and instead learn to listen and follow a deeper inner wisdom, then the peace and happiness we seek is revealed from within. As our life priorities are clarified, it is easier and more fulfilling to use our vital force to live in and from the indwelling peace and happiness that are unaffected by the reactive mind.

But, don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself. Let your life be the laboratory of your direct experience. Meditate every day for 90 days. Experience for yourself what happens to your life when the reactive mind learns to follow the power and presence of peace and joy within you.

Join us at Blue Lotus Center. Meditate with others devoted to thriving in peace, love and wholeness.

Walk With Wisdom Teachers

Paula Whang-Ramos

"Harmlessness can be defined as "non-violence" or "non-harming" -
not causing or wishing harm to oneself or others through thought, word or action."

~ Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian

Harmlessness is the conscious use of our thoughts, words and actions to lovingly support the holy One in all, including ourselves. Harmlessness is the foundational practice on which all Yoga is based. When we live harmlessly, we are the presence of unconditional love and peace that we all seek, right now.

Mahatma Gandhi's Civil Disobedience movement was a powerful demonstration of harmlessness in action. While Gandhi's sandals may feel like large footsteps to fill, we can make our unique conscious contribution to receive and to be the unconditional love and compassion that arises from harmlessness practice. Join us at CSE and BLC for 2 opportunities to deepen our harmlessness practice and enrich our lives of Yoga wholeness, for the benefit of ourselves and all beings.

Join us at CSE this weekend for a special opportunity to study and meditate with Mr. Roy Eugene Davis, Yogacharya O'Brian's teacher and the last living teacher blessed by Paramahansa Yogananda to offer the Yoga first introduced by Yogananda in 1920. Experience time with a wise one who is a living expression of harmlessness and Yoga in action.

Also, beginning this month, Blue Lotus Center will be deepening our return to peace as we commit to Living Peace. Join us for these monthly informal gatherings where we will explore and experience Yogic lifestyle practices to strengthen our walking the talk of being the peace, love and wholeness that we are and that we yearn to experience in this lifetime. Be restored in a time of meditation and inspiration in the uplifting BLC spiritual community. This Thursday, we will explore the practice of harmlessness, and how it can deepen our own walk in the joy, love and clarity that we all deserve to live, right now.

Join us at Blue Lotus Center. Meditate with others devoted to thriving in peace, love and wholeness. Make this the year that we affirm and skillfully live the inner call to peace in our minds, hearts, families, community and our world. Blue Lotus Meditation & Yoga Center welcomes sincere seekers from all backgrounds. Beginning and experienced participants from all traditions are welcome at all gatherings.

Welcome Every Good Thing

Paula Whang-Ramos

"Every good thing that is intended for you according to Divine grace will come to you; nothing can prevent it.”

~ Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian

Yoga philosophy is based on the inclusive, positive perspective of Wholeness. As individual expressions of Wholeness, all that we need to live in peace, love and joy is already available to us right now. This is good news! And yet, sometimes the judging, doubting, fear-based mind, and even life experiences, may lead us to believe that we are broken, undeserving, or somehow less than whole.

Meditation and conscious living in Yoga wholeness offer constructive alternatives to a life guided by scary stories of the mind. Instead of living in our head, Yoga and meditation teach us how to live from our hearts in the inclusive, positive Source that is always available for us to consciously live in It.

Join us at Blue Lotus Center and learn to recognize and welcome every good thing that awaits you.  Meditate with others devoted to lives thriving in peace, love and wholeness.
